The Society's principal aim is to support and encourage the best possible use of music in Unitarian worship. As a secondary aim we encourage members to be involved in a wide range of musical activity and to gain in skill and understanding.
The Society encourages and supports the study of Unitarian history and that of its cognate traditions - English Presbyterian, General Baptist, Universalist, Methodist Unitarian, Non-Subscribing Presbyterian (Ireland), Unitarian-Universalist.

The Faithful Fools offer a ministry of presence to people in need and Street Retreats in the Tenderloin for inquirers. A Catholic nun and a Unitarian Universalist minister direct the program.
