Over 1/2 acre in size, with over 60 individual theme areas, the garden emphasizes the important part plants play in children's daily lives, from the first cereal bowl in the morning to the last popcorn snack at night. Dedicated as a "learning experience in the making," the instructional arboretum has as its primary function to maximize students' exposure to and participation in landscape design, construction, and maintenance. It also provides the community at large with landscape demonstrations, featuring the complimentary use of plants and hardscape.
