Will focus on the successes, problems and challenges facing the Australian coast and examine the roles of government and community in coastal management. Field trips will show delegates the practical aspects of coastal issues, while focus papers will encourage maximum participation to develop viable actions. These actions will be road-tested during a high-profile hypothetical session on the last day.
Continuation of a state-sponsored conference of the same name first held almost 40 years ago, and then again in 1997. CWO '02 will provide an opportunity to use California as a case study and a springboard for discussions on the best ways to create, implement, or improve ocean and coastal resource management strategies for coastal states, territories, and commonwealths located throughout the United States and the world.
Organized by Récif France society and Reefkeeper.net, the conference aims to raise public awareness about Coral Reefs, to share experience and skills, and delight visitors with a large number of topical talks from and a great number of some of the most knowledgeable people in the field.
Final Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) Open Science Conference entitled 'A Sea of Change: JGOFS Accomplishments and the Future of Ocean Biogeochemistry'.
IGBP and SCOR are developing a new project focussed on ocean biogeochemistry and ecosystems and the impacts of global change. This Open Science Conference invites input into the development of the science focus of the project through plenary sessions, workshops and poster presentations.
School introducing the new international research programme on Surface Ocean-Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS). SOLAS aims to achieve quantitative understanding of the key biogeochemical-physical interactions and feedbacks between the ocean and the atmosphere, and how this coupled system affects and is affected by climate and environmental changes. The school is intended for graduate students at all levels in environmental and pure sciences, with interests in air-sea interactions.
Oceans III Millenium Congress covering oceanology and human development between the coastline and the continantal margin.
Gordon Research Conference covering operational forecasting, data assimilation, shelf-ocean interactions, physical/biological coupling, lagrangian methods and turbulence closure.
Gordon Research Conference on the changes taking place in the polar oceans covering the impacts of a changing climate on physical, chemical, biological and coupled systems.
Symposium on oceanographic data and information management with special attention to biological data.
